2010 – An ad placed for The Autism Treatment Center of America to promote their UK lectures was pulled from the Metro news after readers complain about the context of the ad.
The ad stated the following:
…2 hours to change your child’s life with American autism expert Raun K Kaufman, himself fully recovered from autism.
The complaints were that the ad implied the medical condition of Autism could be ‘cured’ in 2 hours.
The Advertising Standards Authority set a ruling that the ad shall not reappear in that format.
