PICA Disorder
This is an unusual eating disorder that occurs in children. Children who have this disorder will crave non food items – the craving and eating of the non food item will need to occur for a period longer than one month to be diagnosed as PICA. This is very treatable and is a condition that can improve naturally when the child gets older. The recovery can take longer if the child has other mental disorders present.
