Children with an autism spectrum disorder will often have problems consuming foods containing gluten or casein. A list of foods that do not contain gluten or casein are listed in this article. These are foods a typical family will prepare for meals. The preparing these foods should be done with foods that are also gluten or casein free.

One of the best places to purchase special gluten free and casein free foods is at a health food store. Gluten is commonly found in grains such as wheat, oats, rye, and barley. Foods made from these grains are also made in gluten free forms. These can be purchased at health food stores. Casein is commonly found in dairy products such as milk, butter, cheese, yogurt, and ice cream.
